Kai Alcé is one of the most respected DJs/producers in the U.S. underground scene. Kai Alcé is a DJ’s DJ. Not hype-driven. Not trend-chasing. Not algorithm music. His releases span the gamut of the best in American dance music labels, from Mahoghani to Sound Signature and Track Mode, not least of all his own seminal label NDATL Musik. Born in NYC and having spent time in Detroit before moving to Atlanta in the early 2000s, Kai’s musical heritage draws from the very foundations of what we now call House music. A bonafide legend in his own right, we’re delighted to be hosting his first ever performance here in Aotearoa.

Lovie is a DJ based in Brooklyn, NY. In relocating from D.C. to New York in August of 2020, her unique selection swiftly ushered her into New York’s local music scene. Her show Summer School Radio on The Lot Radio quickly garnered a devoted following amongst music lovers and local DJs alike; within a year, she’d earned a Lot Radio residency, and bookings at staple Brooklyn venues like Elsewhere, Black Flamingo, and Nowadays. She has also just begun a monthly residency on Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM. Lovie’s sets guarantee a soulful and eclectic selection, and as a former theatre artist, she brings her love of storytelling and empathy building to the dance floor. When she DJs, she makes mutual exchanges of joy and collaboration with the audience as she interweaves soul, disco, and house into a sound that creates warmth, and makes you move. We’re excited to have her join us for her first show in NZ and the inaugural SKY HIGH at Queens Rooftop
